Experience

As General Counsel, manages all of the legal issues and litigation for the corporation; experienced in all phases and aspects of internet and web related disputes for the 30 companies the corporation controls. Previously was managing partner of the civil litigation division for the KTS law firm, litigating real property, health care, environmental, employment, business, and corporate and partnership matters, supervising eight attorneys. Highly experienced trial and arbitration attorney; lead attorney for more than 100 trials and arbitrations, (and more than 2,500 municipal court trials). Very experienced in all aspects of health care law, including all types of contracts relating to managed care systems. Prior experience in forming corporations, partnerships, trusts and all facets of contract and employment law. Substantial experience in mediating and arbitrating claims arising from the above specialties, including life insurance claims, and in managing and conducting arbitration and mediation proceedings. Has also been a mediator and an arbitrator in two separate mass tort claims projects administered by the AAA. Very experienced in managing complex caseloads as part of the mass tort claims effort. 

ADR Experience

A member of the AAA's national roster of arbitrators and mediators since 1990. Member of the San Diego County Superior Court's Mediator and Arbitrator Panel since 1990. As a sole or panelist arbitrator, conducted more than 600 cases. Mediated 1,000 real estate, business, mass tort claims and other disputes involving complex issues and multi-party proceedings. Conducted numerous arbitrations and mediations involving a variety of real property, employment, life insurance, professional liability, partnership and corporate dissolution matters, contract and business disputes. Guest speaker and lecturer on conflict resolution and team building and negotiation techniques and strategies for small and large organizations; Adjunct professor for seven years teaching negotiation, mediation and arbitration law, concepts and strategies to law school students.
